TarGrid™ – Glass Fiber Geogrids & Geocomposites Manufacturer in India

Shivoham Fabtech manufactures Glass Fiber Geogrid – an open mesh reinforcement fabric manufactured from high-strength alkali – free glass fiber yarns using European woven technology, coated with thermally stable elastomeric polymer.

Designed as a pavement interlayer system for asphalt overlay reinforcement in roads, highways, and airports. The proprietary polymer coating bonds mechanically with asphalt layers and protects the glass fiber grid during paving, with a coating melting point of > 230°C and a glass fiber melting point of > 820°C. Available in grades from 50 kN/m to 200 kN/m, spanning four specialized series: Regular, Self-Adhesive (PSA), Light Geocomposite (GLC), and Heavy Geocomposite (GHC).

Glass Fiber Geogrid – Available Range

The TarGrid™ series is available in multiple tensile grade configurations to suit different pavement design requirements. TRG-G 50 is suitable for standard asphalt overlay reinforcement, while the TRG-G 100 and TRG-G 200 grades are used for heavier-load applications such as airport runways and high-traffic highway rehabilitation. We offer Plain Grids, Self-Adhesive (PSA) variants for rapid installation, and Geocomposites (GLC & GHC) that bond a non-woven paving fabric to the grid – providing high-tensile reinforcement and a stress-relieving moisture barrier in a single layer.

TarGrid™ – Glass Fiber Geogrid – Technical & Performance Properties

High Tensile Strength at Working Strains

TarGrid™ is engineered to hold its shape and provide immediate reinforcement the moment it is installed. Its high tensile modulus and ultra-low elongation (< 4%) ensure reliable load distribution across the pavement layer, keeping the structure stable under repeated traffic throughout its service life.

Thermally Stable Polymer Coating

The glass fiber yarns are coated with a thermally stable elastomeric polymer that is fully compatible with hot-mix asphalt paving. The grid retains its geometry and integrity during laying and compaction, ensuring consistent performance from installation through to the end of the pavement’s design life.

Alkali & Weathering Resistance

The protective polymer coating shields the glass fiber yarns from UV radiation, alkalis, soil chemicals, and weathering—making the TarGrid™ series suitable for placement directly on both asphalt and cement concrete surfaces without performance loss over time.

Why Engineers Specify our TarGrid™ – Glass Fiber Geogrid?

Extending Pavement Lifespan with Advanced Interlayer Technology

Glass Fiber Geogrid is available in multiple tensile grade  configurations to suit different pavement design requirements.  The GG 50 grade is suitable for standard asphalt overlay  reinforcement, while the GG 100 and GG 200 grades are used  for heavier-load applications such as airport runways and  high-traffic highway rehabilitation.  Both standard grid and geocomposite (GC) variants are available.  Geocomposite variants bond a polypropylene nonwoven geotextile  to the grid — providing reinforcement and a stress-relieving  interlayer function in a single layer.

Longer Service Life

By preventing reflective cracks from re-emerging through new asphalt layers, TarGrid™ significantly extends the time between road repair and resurfacing cycles. Roads and highways reinforced with a TarGrid™ fiberglass interlayer require less frequent maintenance—delivering longer, trouble-free service.

Stronger Foundation

TarGrid™ is placed between the existing road surface and the new asphalt layer. When cracks begin to develop in the old pavement, the geogrid absorbs and spreads the stress horizontally—stopping the crack from breaking through the new surface above it. The result is a stronger, more durable pavement structure.

Lower Project Cost

Fewer resurfacing cycles mean lower maintenance spend over the life of the road. In many projects, using a TarGrid™ interlayer allows a thinner asphalt overlay to achieve the exact same structural result – reducing material costs without compromising long-term performance.

Where Is Glass fiber Geogrid Used?

Applications in Civil Infrastructure

Installed as a pavement interlayer between existing cracked asphalt and a new overlay to interrupt reflective crack propagation. Perfectly suited for national highways, state roads, and urban road rehabilitation.

Reinforces airport pavements subjected to extreme shear forces and high cyclic aircraft wheel loads. Suitable for both new construction and the rehabilitation of existing airfield surfaces.

Controls reflective cracking at concrete slab joints when converting rigid cement concrete roads into flexible composite pavements. The alkali-resistant coating qualifies TarGrid™ for direct placement on concrete surfaces.

Applied within pavement cross-sections to reinforce asphalt surface and binder layers. It distributes severe traffic-induced stresses and extends the overall service life of the pavement structure.

Common Question

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! The TarGrid™ TRG-PSA Series features a high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing. It is activated by roller pressure during installation, allowing for extremely fast application without the need for an underlying tack coat, where site conditions permit.

Standard available roll widths for TarGrid™ are 1.5 m, 3.0 m, and 3.3 m. The 3.3 m master rolls can also be slit (divided) into 2 or 3 narrower widths to accommodate specific project requirements. Roll lengths vary by grade. Contact our team with your specification for grade-specific roll dimensions and availability.

Standard roll widths are 1.0 m, 1.5 m, 2.0 m, and 3.0 m. Roll lengths vary by grade. Custom widths and lengths can be arranged based on project requirements. Contact our team with your specification for grade-specific roll dimensions and availability.

Yes. While TarGrid™ is the ultimate solution for asphalt reinforcement, the specific series (e.g., PSA vs. Geocomposite), grade, placement position, and overlap requirements vary depending on project conditions. The design must be carried out by a qualified Pavement Engineer. Shivoham Fabtech’s technical team can provide product datasheets and installation support, but final design responsibility rests with the project’s appointed design professional.

We supply TarGrid™ in four specialized series: TRG-G (Plain Grid), TRG-PSA (Self-Adhesive Grid), TRG-GLC (Light Geocomposite), and TRG-GHC (Heavy Geocomposite). All series are available in tensile strengths of 50 kN/m, 100 kN/m, and up to 200 kN/m. The appropriate series and grade must be specified by a qualified Pavement Design Engineer based on existing pavement conditions and traffic loads.
